Know More about YouTube

Do you get more knowledge about YouTube? YouTube is built up a big platform to share videos and music. I believe more and more users have been joined this broad scale site to enjoy their life and share their hobbies. In fact, they know little about YouTube such as: who, when, how built up it? The history of the development of YouTube… the more you knew, the more information you shared, and the happier you are.

What is YouTube?
YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos. Three former PayPal employees created YouTube in February 2005. This definition comes from WIKIpedia.com which is proverbial website to share the pick of information and resources. YouTube just provides a large scale stage to show your favorite videos and your own creation and share what you liked. It not only offers a platform to upload, share, and view videos but also it boots the communication between the users which have common hobbies and make friends with each other.

The Features of YouTube

Youtube video technology playback
Viewing YouTube videos on a personal computer requires the Adobe Flash Player plug-in to be installed in the browser. The Adobe Flash Player plug-in is one of the most common pieces of software installed on personal computers and accounts for almost 75% of online video material.

Uploading videos to Youtube
Videos uploaded to YouTube by standard account holders are limited to 15 minutes in duration. When YouTube was launched in 2005, it was possible to upload longer videos, but a ten-minute limit was introduced in March 2006 after YouTube found that the majority of videos exceeding this length were unauthorized uploads of television shows and films. The 10-minute limit was increased to 15 minutes in July 2010. Partner accounts are permitted to upload longer videos, subject to acceptance by YouTube. File size is limited to 2 GB for uploads from YouTube web page, and to 20 GB if Java-based Advanced Uploader is used.
YouTube accepts videos uploaded in most container formats, including .AVI, .MKV, .MOV, .MP4, DivX, .FLV, and .ogg and .ogv. These include video formats such as MPEG-4, MPEG, and .WMV. It also supports 3GP, allowing videos to be uploaded from legacy mobile phones. Although the formats YouTube supported ate so powerful, but there are some formats which cannot be compatible with some hard devices. It is most popular to users to transfer YouTube video to your hard devices such as: iPod, iPod nano, iPod classic, iPod shuffle, iPod touch, iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPad, Apple TV, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360, General 3GP mobile phone, BlackBerry, Archos, Creative Zen, Zune, iRiver, Pocket PC, Smart Phone, PDA, Sony Xperia, Sony Walkman, Wii, Goolge Phone…

Youtube quality and codecs
YouTube originally offered videos at only one quality level, displayed at a resolution of 320x240 pixels using the H.263 Sorenson Spark codec, with mono MP3 audio. YouTube videos are available in a range of quality levels. The former names of standard quality (SQ), high quality (HQ) and high definition (HD) have been replaced by numerical values representing the vertical resolution of the video. The default video stream is encoded in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC format, with stereo AAC audio.
