ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesISMDownloader is a more generic application than RTLdownloader. It allows to download Silverlight streams and save them as MKV files.
ISM Downloader is available at: Code:
http://dvb-crew.atw.hu/applications/ismdownloader/ismdownloader2.zip http://dvb-crew.atw.hu/applications/ismdownloader/ismdownloader.zip Code:
ismdownloader <manifest url> <output: *.mkv> I believe that the ISM utility locates the optimum bandwidth stream for your system/connection**, then downloads the fragments, and finally merges all the fragments into a final, playable .MKV file package. ** (not sure of this, or if it merely takes the highest bandwidth available on the server) |

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesI'm trying to record videos from NBA League Pass:
http://stream-recorder.com/forum/rec...ass-t7620.html I'm not sure whether they use Silverlight videos or not. I've tried to find manifest URLs, but not sure how to do that. An XML file that looked like a manifest forced ISM Downloader to crash. Any idea how to record such streams? |

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV files1, install a HTTP Debugger Proxy (for example: http://www.charlesproxy.com/)
2, open the site in Firefox 3, use the filter option in Charles (type manifest in the "Filter:" field) 4, if u see an item, please send it to me somehow. |

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesAny chance to use a simple URL finder like URL Snooper instead? May be something that is mentioned here? Or something like Live HTTP Headers or Firebug for Firefox?

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesHello,
First of all, I would like to say that this is a great tool that does wonders for me. Second, I'd like to ask if there's anyone out there that could build such a muxing tool to convert all the fragments, if you were to download them manually, to mkv like ism downloader does? Last question. I've got two ism files that are practically identical, but there's only one of them that works to download from. Is there anyone out there willing to help me through PM? I would really appreciate any help I could get. Regards, MB |

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesHi I've tried your software with rtve oogg streamings (http://www.rtve.es/londres-2012/videos/video?v=4283), and hangs every time I try to use it.
I catch the manifest url via live http headers that is, f.e.: Code:
http://rtvelond2012vod-s.akamaihd.net/73eac305-505c-4fd4-ad3b-3537767f129b/archive.ism/manifest?__auth__=1344548435_911ef2a7996a9642cf9cf667bd916a72 Code:
http://rtvelond2012vod-s.akamaihd.net/73eac305-505c-4fd4-ad3b-3537767f129b/archive.ism/manifest If I try (in firefox) the entire url, I can download the manifest file: Code:

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesHi all,
I have an issue with ISMdownloader v2.0.0.0 beta (is there any more recent version actually?) Some smooth streaming videos I have downloaded, become corrupt while playback. For example: http://dme.myshowroom.tv/microsoft/6...a.ism/Manifest http://dme.myshowroom.tv/microsoft/e...9.ism/manifest and a couple of more examples, if anyone is interested... Response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Cache-Control: max-age=7200 Pragma: IISMS/4.0,IIS Media Services by Microsoft Content-Type: video/mp4 ETag: "363cffc4c1b3103" Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 IISMS/4.0 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET Date: Wed, 29 Aug 2012 08:55:37 GMT Content-Length: 26880 Via: 1.1 taurus1.sec:80 (IronPort-WSA/7.1.1-038) Connection: keep-alive I believe it is a MUXING issue., as the Silverlight player plays is perfectly, without any visual artifact. |

Re: ISM Downloader - Download Silverlight videos and save as MKV filesQuote:
You need to get the URL of the file whose contents you pasted on your message/post in the other thread. That looks like the manifest, to me. Then, you can feed that URL into ISMdownloader (use the example batch file as a model), and see what happens. Keep (copy, save to a text file) the console (screen) output, to debug any errors. |
