How to record videos from Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert HallBefore "buying" the concerts, I want to know that it can be done. Watching live is not an option. I need to to time shift them. My trials of the free "trailers" has yielded swf files that have given me no usable results.
Anybody???? |

Re: How to record videos from Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert HallOk, my initial thought that they're using RTMP has turned out to be wrong. They streaming is HTTP-based.
hxxp://bphil.vo.llnwd.net/o29/trailers/20100411_0_Teaser_H264_640x360_700kbps_128aac.mp4 Use a packet sniffer (Wireshark, ngrep etc.) for more information. See also http://forum.applian.com/showthread.php?t=1409 |

Re: How to record videos from Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert HallSemi-old post but I would like to revive it as I do have information on it.
They do use RTMP streams, here is an example URL of a paid stream. They use authentication keys, but do allow for both low/medium/ and high streams rtmp://cdn6.digitalconcerthall.com/ondemand?auth=(removed auth key)&aifp=v1&slist=secure/0910/20091017_1_Bartok_Divertimento_H264_960x540_1300kb ps_192aac/mp4:secure/0910/20091017_1_Bartok_Divertimento_H264_960x540_1300kb ps_192aac.mp4?auth=(removed auth key)&aifp=v1&slist=secure/0910/20091017_1_Bartok_Divertimento_H264_960x540_1300kb ps_192aac I used Jaksta (Replay Media Catcher 4) to download, just pop on monitoring, navigate to a paid page, click watch. And it will start downloading. It does download faster than the video plays, usually download an hour video in 10-15minutes (20mbps FIOS) on medium, I didn't test low or high. If you plan to rip the entire contents it can be done in a day if you sit there for a good 15-20 hours straight so I'd recommend the month pass to not go insane. Sometimes it will get stuck on "Sending CreateStream", just delete the download and refresh the page with the video playing in it and it'll try to download again but this doesn't happen often. |

Re: How to record videos from Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall@ thatsgreat2345:
Thanks, REALLY GREAT! Now I am facing the fact I have downloaded two of those FLVs from two different pieces of a concert. In the concert - THRILLING! - they continued with just a 3 seconds break. In the FLVs the first one continues till the first beats of the second piece. Any clue for FLV splitters and joiners, which are really able to handle those obviously rather "complex" files you get? Re: How to record videos from Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert HallOld post but I would like to revive it as I have new experiences on it:
Since the beginning of the Digital Concert Hall, I've had very good experiences with Jaksta (now 4.3.0). Since the beginning of March this year it no longer works.Presumably, in the transfer software changed something. i.e. now there are 5 levels of quality available. Can somebody help? |
