Files Missing Video !?!Recorded 4 video clips (~3-7 minutes each; using WM9, set to 3000Kbps/64kbps/20fpm).
I'm VERY, VERY impressed with WMCapture's compression ratios - final file sizes ranged between 0KB and 45KB! VERY, VERY frustrated to discover that (predictably) these are "garbage files" with no actual video content - and un-playable using any known program. I can find NO CLUE as to what's causing this - much less a fix - having searched Applian User Guide/Support/FAQs and this Forum. So .... apparently I'm the first & only one who has experienced this. Anybody have any idea what might fix this repeated and frustrating failure by WMCapture? ------------------------ WMCapture ver 4.2 - 3.02.10 System specs: XP Pro/SP3, Asus M4A78 Pro, AMD Phenom X3, 4GB fast RAM, and only 285GB available on HDD with Output folder |

Re: Files Missing Video !?!Are you recording from a streaming media player? If yes, which one?
Do you have the same problem when using MPEG-2? |

Re: Files Missing Video !?!Media sources/players identify as "Adobe FlashPlayer 10"*
No, problem is just with WM9; actually records OK in MPEG-2. However [Failed] results using WM9 are consistent. Adding to (MS-related) strangeness, WMP-11 fails to recognize .mpg files as media!?! Clicking File/Open in WMP-11 & then selecting media folder, defaults to Searching "Files of Type: Media Files (all types)" and prompts a blank Explorer window. Of course, selecting "All Files [*.*]" then reveals those pesky non-media [sic] .mpg files in folder. ... Go figure! * Example: www.top-windows-tutorials.com/windows-7-tutorial.html |

Re: Files Missing Video !?!Try to un-install the program, then reboot and install one more time.
I don't use WMP, so I don't have problems like that. VLC and SMPlayer are freeware players that can play almost anything right away, besides they are much faster than bloated WMP, although their functionality is superior. |
