Is it possible to record streaming Neflix movies to the hard drive as an mpg file?Hi,
So I have a Netflix subscription and use the "Watch instantly" feature which allows you to watch certain movies/shows on your PC. Is it possible to record streaming Neflix movies that are playing and save them to my hard drive as an mpg file? I've tried Replay Media Catcher 3.11, Jaksta, WM Recorder, but can't get anything with them. |

Re: Is it possible to record streaming Neflix movies to the hard drive as an mpg fileIt seems to be using Silverlight for streaming videos, so you try to download such movies and save recorded Netflix movies to your hard drive using Replay Media Catcher 4.
If you have a stable internet connection and doesn't experience buffering when watching Netflix videos, just record them from screen using a screen recorder like Replay Video Capture. It will allow you to record right using MPEG-2 video codec, so you won't need to convert anything after downloading. |

Re: Is it possible to record streaming Neflix movies to the hard drive as an mpg fileWhy on earth do you want to record streaming movies from Netflix?
Netflix streams live. There are too many issues with live streaming that cause interruptions in your bought and paid for rental and lessen your enjoyment. If you could download it first (which Netflix doesn't let you do) and then play it back you can avoid the bandwidth issues that stop Netflix in it's tracks and stops your movie while it waits. If I record Netflix movies with screen video capture software, I also get choppy videos, so there is no point for me to record anything from Netflix with screen recorders. |
