Looking for some expert help to download BBC radio filesHi,
Looking for some expert help to download BBC radio files.... I'm living outside the UK. For the last few years (until a few months ago) I was happily downloading BBC radio programmes and saving them on my computer. I did this by right clicking in the radio player window, viewing the source file, and extracting the URL for the .ra file, and then downloading the file using hidownload. And then a while ago, something changed in the way that the BBC delivered the content and I can no longer find a URL for the file (it seems to be hidden behind some JavaScript or something - certainly beyond my level of knowledge). URL Helper does not seem to identify a URL for the file either. Can anyone explain, in relatively simple terms, how I can now find URL for BBC radio files? TIA. |

Re: Looking for some expert help to download BBC radio filesBBC started using RTMP flash video streams. You don't have to find stream URLs if you use RTMP flash stream recorders that can download/capture RTMP streams automatically: Replay Media Catcher (RMC) and Jaksta.
If you don't want to use commercial software like RMC and Jaksta, you can try freeware Orbit Downloader, CooJah + Blader, TubeMaster++. More: FAQ: How to record/download/capture/save Adobe Flash .FLV video RTMP stream from embedded player |
