need a guide for streaming live tv from my sky box to my web-site

Hi

Will you be interested in writing a guide for me ? The guide would show me how to stream live tv from my sky box to my website.

It would only have to be a few pages with step by step options that i can take.

I would be prepared to offer you $50 for your time. If you are interested let me know.

Thanks

I don't have enough experience to create such a guide.

My recommendation is to outsource your project via a freelance marketplace. You can find lots of IT professionals and companies there. And escrow payment allows to pay after the work is done.

You can try to broadcast live TV via Justin TV or UStream TV. Their players can be embedded onto your web-site.
You can also use your own streaming server. Please note that broadcasting TV without a licence can be illegal.

If you need live TV only for yourself, you can use Slingbox.

Re: need a guide for streaming live tv from my sky box to my web-site

Hi

Yea i use odesk for some projects that i work on but it is hard getting the right workers from these places as they have been swamped with people claiming to be able to the job but then cant.

Could you have a quick look at this and tell me if i could stream live tv from my sat box with this box. Also is there such a thing as playing live tv or are these capture cards/boxes do the same i.e play back what it sees on my tv screen to my com a few seconds or minutes later ? As i read about all these different terms and it gets confusing.

Heres the box im looking at maybe getting -

http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

Cheers

Chris

I've looked through the description of Hauppauge HD PVR and I don't really see how you gonna broadcast live streams to your web-site with it.

As I mentioned before, you can use Slingbox to watch TV from a distant location via the Internet.

Slingbox allows you to watch your videos via the Internet. I don't think it is intended to be used to broadcast videos via the web-site.

What exactly do you want to do? How are your viewers? How many of them?

Re: need a guide for streaming live tv from my sky box to my web-site

Hi

Im going to build a fan website for a certain team and show there live games aswell so at the start there will be a few hundred but it could go up to the thousands very quickly.

If this slingbox doesnt work then i will have to get a capture card but im not sure weather they will play encrypted channels as i bought a HD one already and it doesnt.

It plays encrypted channels fine but others it does not. I was thinking about this slingbox. This box will have a player with that plays HD onto my computer screen so then i was thinking i could use livestreamcom's desktop capturer and capture what i was playing live to my live stream account.

Would this keep the quality ? I see you can pay for HD on livestream so i would prob have to upgrade but would it really be in HD if i done it this way ?

I have posted a ad on 0desk aswell so il see if i get any replys to my ad.

Always greatfull for any help

Thanks

Chris
