Uninstall of WM capture problemsI downloaded and tried WM Capture and it did not work the way I wanted. I uninstalled through Windows XP home control panel. However now my dvd player/recorder will not play any sound and the windows media player acts strange when it first boots up. I notice when WM Capture installed it installed codec files in DOS. Obviously the uninstall did not uninstall all of WM capture files. I uninstalled my sound card drivers and reinstalled them and DVD's still produce no sound.
Can you help please? |

Re: Uninstall of WM capture problemsMost probably the uninstaller removed some audio codecs that it installed and that were also used by the system. You may install an audio codec that is needed to play MPEG audio.
p.s. I used to install a K-Lite Mega Codec Pack that allows me to play almost any audio/video file on my PC. However right now I prefer to use freeware VLC player that can play almost everything, but doesn't need any external codecs for that. |
