Problem with Net Transport & RTSP

Hi Forum

I am using Net Transport v1.94.279 to rip the following rtsp

rtsp://helix.samurai.fm:554/music/hotpot/hotpot165_20060324_hi.rm

I use the same link in RMRecoder v1.3 wihtout any problem. I'm guessing that there is a setting within Net Transport that is causing the problem.

NetTransport 2.22 works fine with this stream. Lots of bugs were fixed since 1.94 so you should try the latest version of NetTransport or use try any other media stream recorders supporting Real Media RTSP streaming.

So I upgraded my Net Tranport to the latest version 2.25.338 as recommended.

But the problem remains. It would appear that the stream worked fine in the download stage as there was no errors appearing in the log. However upon playback there are skips or jumps (not pauses) throughout the stream.

It would appear that Net Transport is continuously reconnecting to the rtsp link missing sections of the stream. My tend to think that there is a setting within Net Transport that will eliminate this problem.

I have used RM Recorder v1.3 without any problems and the stream records fine. But I want to queue a few streams at once (of the same website) and I'd prefer to use Net Transport with the sceduling feature.

I'm noticing the reconnection to the link within the log (see bold) every minute or so, with the CSeq Number increasing (see Red). Could that be causing the problem?

I always use 1 transport when downloading. I had a problem with this stream in one place only when I paused it and resumed.

Haven't found any other solution to NetTransport problem. You may also try to use Streambox VCR 2.0. It works fine with this stream and with the majority of other real streams. Although it is not officially distributed, it can be downloaded for free from alternative sources.

The developer of NetTransport claims that he has no problem recording this stream with 5 threads. If he has no problem, he has nothing to fix.

Can anyone else please record this stream with NetTransport using 5 threads and tell about the results?
