fairuse4wm stopped working after Windows Media Player upgrade

I got the same message about requiring a different private key. I download audio books from library & have had no trouble downloading and then using the fairuse4wm software until the other day when they required I upgrade media player - I have media player 10. Don't get the pc talk and just want simple fix to problem - how did you make out with your problem - did you download the fix 2 software to restore the ability to do this? Any help would be great!

Re: fairuse4wm stopped working after Windows Media Player upgrade

Of course you should use the latest version of fairuse4wm, i.e.fu4m 1.3 fix-2. The problem is that it doesn't work with the latest IBX.

If you're forced to upgrade, I don't really see any option other than using lossy DRM removal software.

If you upgraded your IBX by accident, you can downgrade your Windows Media Player or install another copy of Windows (onto a virtual machine or as a standalone copy). Make sure not to update your Windows or at least do it selectively.
