HELP! Lost my licenses. Trying to remove DRM from my MovieLink WMV...

I don't understand what's going on, so I hope someone with a little more know-how in this area can come to the rescue...

I've had a movie that I got off movielink 4 years ago on a cd for ever, and I just found it the other day and I want to watch it again. If I could get this stupid encryption off the file I'm hoping to convert it to an avi, using divx codec. I obviously haven't had the license for this movie for a long ass time, there's no way i would be able to find some key on my comp to play it.

I'm trying to use freeme2 and drmdbg, and everything was fine until i tried to use drmdbg. First off, when i open this i don't even know what the crap I'm looking for. I set the WMV directory to the folder where the WMV is (hope that's right) and then i set the DRM 2 dir to where i want whatever is supposed to come out of this to go... i hit multi-scan and WMP11 opens and tells me that "i need to go to the website to get the license bla bla bla...", doesn't play the file, and i don't know what's supposed to happen here. Where do I find this key im looking for? So i decide to drag the movie on top of "fm2helper.exe" and the prompt opens and tells me "Enter SID for this file:", and then I look blankly at the screen.

Any help is appreciated!

Re: HELP! Trying to get DRM off of my MovieLink WMV...

**UPDATE: I know what I'm doing now as far as drmdbg is concerned, and I know what to look for. My only problem remains... when drmdbg opens the file in WMP it says "You do not have the rights to play the file. Go to the content provider's website..." and then it continues to tell me that I don't have the license on my computer anymore, and that I should try to go get it from MovieLink. HELLOOOOO, it's been 4 years now that I haven't been able to play the movie. THANK YOU WMP for letting me know. I OBVIOUSLY know this since I'm trying to get rid of the freaking encryption so I can play it!!

What can I do?

There is a big problem with content: you purchase video files legally and can't watch them later on. And you just upgraded your system or got a new one. Why should it be that way?

You can't remove DRM protection without licenses allowing you to play your files. The only solution to this problem is to re-acquire licenses from Movielink. If they won't provide you with new licenses, let everyone know about it! And boycott any service providing DRM-protected content!
