Extracting live stream links from Channel 4 (All 4, 4oD) for Kodi EPG

I am not sure this is in the correct section, if not can a mod please move it for me.

There used to be a Kodi addon for 'All 4' (formerly 4oD - 4 On Demand), in fact I think there have been various iterations, but there is none that functions at the moment. I read that a DRM change may be the cause of this but I am unsure if this is true or not. Channel 4's website mention they use RTMP-E.

I have started using an EPG in Kodi called Renegades TV, which allows linking to any particular addon stream, or any .strm file.

If possible I would like to extract a usuable link from this webpage:

http://www.channel4.com/now/c4

Their website mentions these streams may or may not work outside of the UK & Ireland.

Using URLSnooper it gives me this URL:

http://www.channel4.com/static/programmes-bips-flash/12.36.1/4odplayer_bips.swf

..but if I put that into a new tab of my browser and press the play button it outputs 'Playback error', and if I try to open it from VLC by selecting open network stream nothing happens.

Please tell me whether it is possible to extract a stream link from this webpage that will work in Kodi etc, and if so can you tell me how?
