How to grab videostream of my activex DVR?

My DVR videostream can only be viewed using Internet Explorer... in theory.
I'd like to "hack" it to make it visible on any browser, and possibly on cellphones.
Some reverse engineering reveals the video stream is on port 54000 and that it should be an RTP stream.
So how can I view it with firefox, VLC or anything else?
