Using the akamaihd url with livestreamer and/or streamlink usually results in the video being downloaded at real time play speed. By default, it also starts the download when the transmission went live, so there will be some minutes of video containing "the event has not yet started" video banner at the beginning.

Depending on the account settings of the livestream account holder, the video may later be converted to other formats like progressive mp4 or hls m3u8. On the other hand, the settings may result in no conversion or the video being expired or deleted completely.
