If I hit the stop button on the app, it will respond with 'ABORTING' and then nothing will happen until I close the app. If I reopen the app a few minutes later, search for the same tracks and download them, the process will usually succeed.

Can you give me some pointers on what to check on my side, or is this simply a matter of traffic and congestion/contention?

This isn't a problem of the program, the problem are the Deezer servers that sucks.
