Re: blip.tv: How to record/capture/download QuickTime MPEG-4 .MP4 videos

Hi Anon,

Sorry for the delayed response. Itested this link with a few of my favorite programs. Both of them are able to record Mp3, mp4, and flv videos USUALLY with no problem.

At any rate, the Programs I attempted this with are Replay Media Catcher and WM Recorder 12.3

Using WM Recorder,
the video appeared to be recording, BUT upon playback I got an error message that the file was not playable.

Using Replay Media Catcher, the video started recording immediately as well. Upon playback again, I received an error that the video was not able to be played back for an unknown reason.

My best guess is that their site's videos are encrypted to prevent recording by software like the two programs I tried above.

Now, here's the good news: I WAS able to record this video, and quite a few OTHERS from this site using a few different Screen Capture type programs. They record what's on your screen, as opposed to recording from the source directly.

Check out our list of recommended Screen Capture programs, and I think you'll find the answer you've been looking for.

Thanks
