I started using the PlayOn product. It's more of a screen capture so it takes longer to record, but it does strip commercials and it costs less than GETFLV and is very actively supported - like immediate fixes and replies sometimes.

It basically turns your PC into a Tivo or Roku capability and can capture DRM channels like Netflix.

PlayOn can also record from stations I had never previously known about, like TubitTV or Yahoo View or PopcornTV.

A side note, Hulu's freebies (movies, shows, etc.) have been moved to Yahoo View. Just search for Yahoo View.

I still use GETFLV to capture CBS shows as it does record faster than PlayOn, but I've given up on support of this product for most channels. I like GETFLV, but I can't get support to respond to any of questions about how to get a new license after upgrading to WIndows 10.
