What do you guys for converting apple music m4p files to m4a files?

When i download/purchase an m4a song from itunes and then convert to say alac - i get very good quality - with the spectrum going all the way to 24Khz.

But when i download a DRM protected m4p song from apple music and then convert using noteburner to say alac - i get not so good quality - the spectrum for the same song this time cuts at 20Khz only. Also re-recording the same song using audials gives a higher spectrum cut at almost 22Khz!

Is this fault of the conversion software or is apple music drm files itself of lower quality?

I understand all these are lossy way of converting the drm file and lossless way??
Has anyone else tried this - what solution does anyone has for me? Thanks to all.
