 Download stream from beginning?

Hey, guys, I have a simple question
I have the m3u8 file I need for a live event, but I would like to start it from the beginning...this is really dumb and I should know this by now, but I have no idea how to start downloading the stream from the start. Can someone please guide me? Thanks.
