Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place (static
OK, Edren
That is what I have been looking for. The power went out and when I try to view, I get DVR not Found. I read what I could find about Comcast static IP. It told me that because the computer was using Vista, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops (hate VISTA) and release the IP and then renew it. When I did that, it actually 'automatically' changed the IP in the config setup on the DVR program. I changed it back to the original static IP that I was given by Comcast. When the power went out, was the Comcast static IP actually changed? How does that work? Can I change it by releasing and renewing again because I have no clue what it changed to. That computer was sitting beside the DVR. I still was unable to ever connect via the computer at home. I am now wondering if that is because I don't have Comcast at home and a firewall is blocking me?
