However, if you saved the original downloaded flv file, it can be fixed to remove the brief pause/sync issue at the start of the video. I can't find my notes about it, but I remember that I did it by remuxing with mencoder - because I couldn't get a fix to work with other tools.
I'll try downloading a file with getflv to see if I can reconstruct the mencoder parameters.

Thanks Blimey, I did more research based upon your post and you are right - there is a fix for the beginning stutter playback of the finished file - I will share in a PM for those interested
