DRM removal failed: Error: list index out of range

I'm using DeDRM on an Apple 10.8 system to convert Amazon ebooks that I own. It works great (I've converted dozens) but now I have an ebook (obtained like the others, from my Kindle app folder on the Mac) which gives this error when I try to process it:

K4MobiDreDrm v4.4
Error: list index out of range
DRM Removal Failed.

any idea what to do?
