Also if you take a look at our chart All streaming video recording software, you will see that not only MPlayer and VLC can play Windows Media streams, but also record them. Although I suggest to use WM Recorder or GetAsfStream when recording.

I uninstalled and reinstalled WMP9 several times, with no change.
I want to use WMP to hear internet radio and also to download music from several sites (e.g. Andante). Can I use another software to do that?
I suspect that the problem was caused by an installation of Real Player, asked by a radio. I uninstalled this software because it did not work well, and after that -although I am not completely sure- WMP begins to have the problem. I ignore what files were modified by Real Player.
