thanks evol,

I installed from my distribution package manager, but also tried to build from git and I get the following when running:

$ ./rtmpdump --help
RTMPDump v2.4
(c) 2010 Andrej Stepanchuk, Howard Chu, The Flvstreamer Team; license: GPL
Segmentation fault
