Does anyone know why the same feed of the same model recorded from the same server at the same time but via two different methods would result in 1 playable flv and 1 unplayable one?

On some girls' cams (not all) I've encountered finished flvs via rtmpdump that no matter what file size will only play 1/2 a second and cannot be fixed. They also cannot be watched while recording. I figured it was just a codec issue at first.

But then I discovered the very same feed grabbed with RMC will produce a playable flv. Not only playable, but watchable while it's happening. So...what's going on? What is RMC doing that rtmpdump is not and how can I make it so rtmpdump simulates it?
