Each CD can be divided into a maximum of 99 tracks, but actually there could be more tracks if some tracks are subdivided into different index values (Usually a track will contain two indexes, index 0 marking the pause at the beginning of each track and index 1 for the main part of the track).

So 90 tracks is OK, although I don't remember any CDs with more than 30 tracks.

Most probably it is a bug of your CD ripper. I suggest you to try alternative software like free Exact Audio Copy.
