I don't reside in the UK either. It is really very weird if you can play the stream, but unable to record when trying to use the same URL that your real player uses....

Try to use a different port number:
Code:
rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:7070/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:80/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:8080/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
or try to change the protocol as well as the port:
Code:
http://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:554/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
http://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:7070/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
http://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:80/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
http://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:8080/radio1/moyles_mon.ra
