As a programmer I don't really see any chance to avoid bugs in software. When you fix old bugs, new ones appear. Usually the less software you have on your PC, the better.
When you send the report of a crash to M$, I'm not sure even M$ knows about it
Speaking seriously, I always thought that this feature was made to report the crashes of M$ products especially Windows. I don't really think that M$ informs other software vendors, especially small ones.
Most probably this conflict is caused by
firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware. You can try to disable them temporarily.
And there can be problems with WinPCap. Please try to find a URL of some media stream with freeware
URL Snooper, that also uses WinPCap.
