You don't need to enter filename in the PRO or ADA mode of WM Recorder. Please see the User Guide for more click (the "HELP" button and select "User Guide").

Screen capture software allows you to select format which to use. When you download/capture/save to hd/rip obviously you get the format of the original.

But you can use flv converters to get other videos formats. WM Converter that comes with WM Recorder should also be able to convert such files.
