vga to rca

I want to view my pc through my older analog tv.

Would I be able to use a male-to-male rca, plug one set into the tv's rca, then plug the other male set into a vga to rca-female adapter and plug the vga into my computer?

Or would I need a vga to rca-male adapter and skip the above process.

I also have hdmi and dvi options on my video card, but I unfortunately only have rca on my television.

I am already using the dvi slot for my lcd, but I would like to dual display with the television, so I would need to use the vga or hdmi if possible.

What adapter would best suite my dilemma? vga to rca (male or female), hdmi to rca, or dvi to rca and use vga on my monitor.

Any input would be most appreciated.
