I've been using Jaksta happily enough to grab videos from YouTube mostly, but I've run into a problem since I started using an SSL VPN service to get access certain sites that are restricted by geographic location.
I use the VPN to access sites like Hulu in the US and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Unfortunately Jaksta can't seem to "listen" to any of these streaming video streams when I'm connected to the VPN. I know some of the reasons why this might be the case, but I'm not sure of a potential fix.
Can anyone give some advice about how I might be able to rip these streams while connected to the VPN?
I'm using a Mac, so are there any other suggestions for a better solution if Jaksta can't do this?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Regards,

i am quoting everything you said.
sorry but this is all nonsense.
Hulu and iplayer are rtmpe based streams.
Jaksta does not support rtmpe streams.
this has nothing to do with vpn.
i download the hulu and iplayer streams with any type of vpn connection, no problem. Take a stream recording tool which OFFICIALLY supports hulu and iplayer.
GetFLV and
TubeDigger come to my mind.
And if GFLV and TD are supported on Windows systems only and you own a Mac instead, guess whose problem is this?
For sure its not my problem, and for sure its not Hulu's problem, and it's not getflv's nor TubeDigger's problem either.
If you have a Mac, and GFLV supports Hulu on Windows WITH VPN CONNECTION, then its pretty clear what the problem is.
