Again, get a camcorder first. Then see how it can be connected to your PC.

I don't do professional video editing, so can't suggest you the best laptop. Personally I would go for a core i7 PC with at least 6GB of RAM and a nice discrete graphics card.

Not sure using a laptop for video editing is a good idea, because most probably you will need a bigger monitor or even a couple of them.
I've been using a 17" 1080p laptop. It is very heavy and can be used on a flat surface only, so I never take it with me. And its 17" screen is not big enough for me.
