I have now purchased the WM Recorder Pro version.

Never buy anything before testing a demo version.
WM Recorder offers a 30-day unconditional money-back guarantee, but many software vendors won't return anything no matter what problem you have.
Also notice that WM Recorder Pro has been discontinued, so I guess you have bought the original WM Recorder.

In the PRO Auto recording mode you don't even need to press the record button. Just start WMR, then open your web-browser and start playing the stream. Everything will be captured automatically.
In the PRO mode you need to leave your browser or Windows Media Player playing the stream. Otherwise WM Recorder will stop recording. You can capture Windows Media streaming from multiple browsers and Windows Media Player.
You can turn off the Auto recording mode. See the User Guide for more.

The Auto On is set by default. Just choose the PRO recording mode for capturing Windows Media streams in real time.

WM Recorder in the PRO recording mode captures packets from Windows Media Player installed on your computer. If your Windows Media Player will experience buffering, WM Recorder in the PRO recording mode won't make the picture better.

You may stop recording anytime (see the User Guide for more). Refresh the browser page to start recording again.

Hit the Setting button and then under the Miscellaneous hit the Set Recording Folder button.
