Nook 2 is available for pre-order. Although it doesn't have 3G support, it has lots of other pros:
- Faster Page Turns
- Touchscreen
- Better Battery Life
With Wi-Fi on, both Kindle and Nook 2 have the same battery life of 3 weeks. Battery life for Nook 2 is supposedly 2 months with WiFi off (versus 1 month for Kindle) - Library Book Support
(Currently Kindle doesn't support library books, unless you remove DRM from them. Amazon should add the library book support later in 2011) - Memory Card Slot
Expand memory up to 32 GB - Size
Nook 2 is just 6.5 x 5 x 0.47" (Kindle Wi-Fi is 7.5 x 4.8 x 0.335") - Barnes & Noble In-Store Extras
- Free Wi-Fi and some special offers when you go to B&N Stores.
- Read books for free for up to an hour per day per book.
- B&N staff to help answer questions.
- Social network recommendations
See your friends' favorites and what they're recommending (Kindle is limited to Facebook and Twitter updates) - On-screen keyboard
Looking forward to see what languages supported besides English, and whether there will be localized versions by 3rd parties.
Considering comparable screens,
Kindle is no longer a clear winner.
