i've tested PlaymeDOTcom (USA). looks like it's about the same game: the free trial (256kbps) enables you to catch and gather 5 url's (U.S. ip number required all the time!) with
GetFLV and then finally download them (with your local ip) with GetFLV. when you try to play/stream/catch/gather the 6th song in a row, you're prompted to choose a paid subscription model (320kbps, Web Only $4.99/month vs. Full Access $9.99/month). And later that day (~6hours later?) you can again catch/gather & download 5 full-length tracks (without ads!) with GetFLV. Etc. And this goes on and on because your trial account doesnt expire. However the total FREE allowance is 5.0hours of listening per week. In other words, with the same account you can
save
only ~5 FREE albums in 256kbps per week (with the GetFLV catching technique). The ads (~30secs radio commercials) dont disturb at all because they are not integral part of the tracks but superpositioned. GetFLV doesnt record them nor catch their true url's.
If the "rate" 5 tracks/6h (and the 5.0 hours/1week) is too low for you, go ahead and sign up for several FREE trial accounts. Just make sure to clear the browser cache when switching accounts.
And for U.S. ip addresses, the primitive HSS (
Hotspot Shield) works just fine. Playme hasnt blocked HSS
