I recommend freeware FlashGet, Free Download Manager, Download Master for static files.
I suggest to
record Windows Media streams with
GetASFStream and
SDPReceiver,
record Real Audio/Real Video streams with
StreamboxVCR Suite 2, and
record Shoutcast MP3 radio stations with
StreamRipper.
