I guess I wasn't too specific on my question or I should have highlighted "preview" part. Here is my question againd: Insteading of just playing the streaming directly into the media player, I just want to grab a few packet of streaming data from the live stream and just play those packet as a "preview" (in a loop) on the embedded player to notify the users about the content of the streaming media. That's why I was wondering whether there exist any middleware/framework.
