I also tried the Calibre plugin, but I don't know if I did it right, all I did was install the plugin according to .txt instructions and then try to open the DRM book. It did put the book in Calibre library without any error message, but I can't open the book in there, so I guess it failed.

I added about 40+ .AZW ebooks from
Amazon (downloaded with
Kindle for PC) to
Calibre. The program didn't produce any error. I tried several .MOBI ebooks Calibre created and was able to open them with Kindle for PC,
Kindle and
Kindle DX.
Try to convert your unDRMed .MOBI ebooks to some other format (preferably to the one that you will be using on your PC, ebook reader, tablet, cell phone,...). Let me know how it goes.
