SD capture cards
Pinnacle Studio MovieBox HD Ultimate Collection costs $140. It includes hardware and software (Studio Ultimate).

Pinnacle Studio MovieBox HD costs $97. It includes hardware and software (Studio HD). It allows to record from composite (not component!) video and S-Video. So you can only record SD videos with it.
Note that MovieBox has a firewire (IEEE1394), but AFAIK you can't use it for recording gameplays, because it is intended to be used with camcorders and other devices.


HD capture cards
Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR costs $169. It is a benchmark for recording from PS3, because the latter game console supports component video only. If you don't have a PCI-E slot (for example, if you have a laptop computer), HD PVR is probably the only solution.

Blackmagic Intensity Pro costs $190. It supports the same video resolution as HD PVR (720p or 1080i), but allows xbox360 to be connected over HDMI (which is digital) as well as by component video also used by HD PVR.
