Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place

Need help to set up remote connection.

I just set a security camera in my house. I want to remotely connect to the dvr. I follow the tread on how to do port forwarding but it still doesn’t work. Please help me if I miss something. The user manual of the dvr doesn’t tell anything about port forwarding or remotely connecting the dvr. Here was what I did.
1. Connect the LAN CAT5 cable to dvr and router/modem (AMBIT U10C109) WAN port.
2. Set configuration on dvr software( the program name is CMS )

-set LAN
-set DDNS
-set PORT
3. Set port forwarding on AMBIT router/modem

(The public interface ip address I got it from whatismyipaddress.com. it doesn’t change even though I shutdown the AMBIT router/modem several times (so, I believe it’s a static ip address)

I believe this is everything.
At my office with another network, when I tried to use IE by putting this ip address http://71.xx.xxx.xxx, I got this message. "Oops Internet Explorer could not connect to http://71.xx.xxx.xxx"

I got the same message when I put this ip address http://ddns03-a5-e6.dvrdomain.com

"Oops Internet Explorer could not connect to http://ddns03-a5-e6.dvrdomain.com"

Please help!
