HP pavillion DV 2000: Audio not working

I have a HP pavillion dv 2000, the audio is not working. I showed it to many soft ware tech but they told me that its a hard ware problem. could u pls advise me if I can install an external sound card? where is it available and how do I install it on my lap top?
