Looks like those are segments of a single big wmv file. Download and use HJSplit to join the files. Or if you aren't afraid of command lines, run the following in a cmd window to join the segments:

> copy /b 1.wmv.* 1.wmv

assuming those are the only 1.wmv.* files in the current directory.

FYI, wmv files are a bit more intelligent than avi in that wmv stores the video length info at the start of the file so that you don't need the entire wmv file in order to start playing. That's why you can play only the first segment, and get stuck at about 1/10th of the way. On the other hand mpg format is more intelligent and robust in that you can deduce the video length of each playable segment just by the size of the arbitrarily chopped-up segment and any complete-frame data in the segment; therefore any file segment of the mpg file containing complete-frame data is always playable.
