What if I decided to take the encoding route? Then would I be able to stream it to my web server via ftp?

I guess re-streaming it is not going to work unless I re-encode the stream to remove the DRM, but the question still remains, will I be able to capture the live stream, encode, and relay the live stream to the web server?
