The speed is fixed for live streams. Also when you capture packets from a streaming player, you get stream media from it in real time or as fast as the player buffering the media stream. But when you download an on-demand stream, it can be several times faster than in real time.
I have noticed that
GetFLV is crashy. It does seem to be less crashy if only one download is in progress. It also seems to be less crashy on windows 7 compared to XP, and on newer intel cpus compared to some older amd cpus. I don't know the cause of this crashiness.
save2pc Ultimate doesn't crash (for me) at all, even with multiple downloads in progress.
