Thanks for choosing Jaksta.

The most important thing to know about these forums and related sites is that they are owned/run by Applian the makers of RMC.

The best way to make a decision is to therefore download and try them out, especially before you purchase, and choose the one that best meets your needs for the price you wish to pay.

As for the incorrect/misleading comments about Jaksta v RMC:

1. Jaksta has a money back guarantee.

2. Jaksta does indeed use .NET 2.0. If you have been keeping your XP machine up todate .NET 2.0 will already be installed. If not then it will be installed from the MS website with no intervention required from you. On Vista and Windows 7 it is already part of the OS.

3. Memory usage - download and run RMC and Jaksta side by side and see which one uses the most memory. Jaksta stores the download/recording history which uses memory. RMC does not. Memory for .Net 2.0 applications is manged by the framework itself. Memory usage of both applications is small in comparison to most other apps you run on your machine.

4. RMC does have an automatic update system that installs modules as they are updated by the developer. This automatic update was used to remove functionality that I and many other users had paid for after Applian was sued by Adobe. A great feature! Heres hoping they will never use that feature again but it is still there. With Jaksta you make the decision to download and upgrade and are prompted through Jaksta's UI when a new release is available for download.

5. I provide excellent support! Email support AT jaksta.com or fill out the form on the support section of jaksta.com.

6. Jaksta and RMC download RTMP steams at a rate determined by the server the stream is coming from and this relates to just a bit quicker than the show would have played at. Many HTTP streams such as YouTube can be downloaded by Jaksta much quicker than RMC.

7. Previously Applian has charged for upgrades to RMC. Jaksta LLC does not and has never previously charged for upgrades.

8. Pandora stream individual songs as MP3 so splitting/tagging is not required for this site and is really only useful for internet radio stations. If you are logged into your pandora account then Jaksta will correctly name the songs.
