Re: BBC iPlayer Adobe rights management: HowTo remove DRM and make files offline frie

I found this site after downloading Formula1 highlights from the BBC and then hoping to play the file on my XBox360 in the lounge on the big TV.

I'm not sure if it is the same for all the BBC shows, but I can download a mp4 file that only seems to play in the BBC iPlayer.

There are also options to download a wmv file. They contain DRM unfortunately. And even though WMV = Microsoft, DRM = Microsoft and XBox360 = Microsoft, I'm not aware of how I can get it to play on the XBox360. Grrrr. I could possibly try streaming from my notebook to the XBox360 but haven't tried that yet. I note that the BBC iPlayer can be downloaded for Playstation3 or Wii but not XBox360. Double Grrrr.

Anyway I download the wmv version and then use the Daniusoft Digital Media Converter to create a non-DRM WMV file. I can then pop it on a USB stick and play it on the XBox360.
