How to secure Captivate, Articulate, PDF, Flash audio and video

We stream content mostly Flash from Captivate and Articulate (now we use Iframe with them) but PDF and other video and audio also used, can you offer some way to secure and protect this kind of content?

You can use DRM protection for PDF files. And you can use RTMPE protocol, SWF verification, timestamps for streaming audio and video. You can also prevent 2 and more simultaneous connections by disconnecting users. You can also use streaming protocols that are not widespread or even develop some proprietary solution.

But most videos can be recorded with screen video capture software and most audio streams can be recorded with direct sound recording software. And DRM protection can be removed from PDF files.

And you should notify users that downloading and recording content from your web-site is prohibited. Make their subscription void if they violate your terms.

But IMHO the best way of protecting content is by constantly updating content, so that users require a subscription to get new content. Then no matter whether they will record your content or not, you will still have happy subscribers.

p.s. Also note that if you give away some free content or pirated just distribute it illegally, you get free advertisements (See Free: How Today's Smartest Businesses Profit by Giving Something for Nothing). So IMHO it is a good idea to concentrate on high quality content and update it.
