Rip stream or download mp3

Hello,

Could someone please tell me which method generally produces better quality: streamripping a radio show or downloading the archived mp3 of the show later? They shoutcast at 128K. I use the Streamripper plugin for Winamp.

It depends on what format the show is archived in. Shoutcast MP3/OGG at 128k is decent quality. Some broadcasters use AAC Plus format which gets the same quality at half the bit rate.
