Hi,

I have a pioneer AV receiver that has an internet radio tuner built in.

I want to listen to WQAM from miami, _www.wqam.com

They use a flash-based online player for their stream, is it possible to get a .pls or .mp3 etc link so that I can use it on the pioneer?

Also, they have geolocation IP blocking - is it possible to get around it by connecting directly to the stream url?

Hi,

I get a 403 Forbidden when I try and access this, it also doesn't work in VLC or on my pioneer amp :(

(Sorry, but you see here screenshots from a Windows with german language!)

The Problem is the URL is not complete!
You need the user-id, at the end of the url!
Example:

I anonymized my user-id

You can use the newest version of Streamtransport to record and hearing live.

1. Start the website-player inside Streamtransport
2. Record 20 seconds in the background.
3. After this 20 seconds mute the websiteplayer
4. Pusch the play-button in Streamtransport.

Now your standart-audio-player (in my case: VLC Player) plays the livestream and Streamtransport records in the background!

BTW: In the most cases the header of the recorded FLV-file is defect! But you can extract the AAC-File, with "FLV Extract"!

But you can open the stream directly, without recording, with the MPlayer (Gui:SMPlayer)

VLC Player dont work! :(

1. At first you need your complete streaming-url, with User-ID.
You can use Streamtransport to copy this URL!

2. Now open the SMPlayer and click ...
Open > URL... > Paste your Streamurl and wait some seconds!
Please wait! In my case I waited ca. one minute ... and the stream start!

PS: To your questions:
Geoblocking:
The Website-Server blocks me, from Germany (in your country not ... bla).
The question is:
Is the direct stream-url geoblocked too?
But in the first step you need an US-ip to get "your user-id"!
In this case you need a VPN-Service or a proxy-server!
Perhaps you can use my manual and stream the audio from the VLC Player to your Pioneer ???

I had a feeling it would. I can get it to work on my computer using proxy server software, obviously that is not much help for getting it to work on the Pioneer receiver.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work?
