Streaming PC content (live TV stream) to HDTV

Question; how can i view content streaming to / on my PC from a website on my TV? I have a wdtv plus box and a wired network set up which allows me to view files from network storage on my tv but if I'm watching a live event on a website (football in this case) how can i send that stream to my tv as viewing there would be far superior to viewing on my PC. Thanx!

You may use XBMC, TVersity,... software

Or just connect your PC to your HDTV via HDMI.

Re: Streaming PC content shown on TV

I have connected my TV (Toshiba LCD) to my network via an ethernet cable. The TV shows up on my network and has been assigned an IP address but I still can't figure out how to use it as a monitor or such. All I want to do is display wants on my PC screen on my TV. I read through some of the info in the above link and it seems WAY to complicated for what I'm trying to achieve. This can't be that hard, the connections are there. Thanx for any input.

It should be a good idea to ask the community discussing the product you have problems with.

p.s.
I thought it would be easy for me as well. But I 've spent lots of time making Windows Media Player and XBMC to work with my Philips HDTV to no avail. Eventually I downloaded HomeMediaServer software which seems to work just fine with HDTVs made by Philips.

DLNA is supposed to simplify things. It should work out of the box. But for whatever reason it may not be as smooth as expected.
